Pete Doherty accused of supplying drugs that killed Robin Whitehead

    (ANI)

Rock star Pete Doherty has been charged for allegedly providing drugs to filmmaker Robin Whitehead who died of a suspected overdose in January.

The English musician was arrested but got bailed after police saw a footage Whitehead had filmed at a flat in Homerton, East London.

It showed Doherty, 31, and others taking heroin and crack.

He had apparently left for his Wiltshire home leaving behind a stash of drugs, before Whitehead died.

However, Doherty insists he is innocent, sources say.

"Pete's adamant he played no part in Robin's death. He is still very distressed," the Sun quoted a source as saying.

Also, Doherty's friend Peter "Wolfman" Wolfe, 41 and the flat's owner Gill Samworth, 53, have been arrested for trying to pervert justice.

Musician Alan Wass, 28, was also arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

However, all three have been bailed. (ANI)
