    Cats rescued from squalid Yorktown house, pet owners have been ill

    YORKTOWN — Agents with the SPCA and town animal control removed 16 neglected cats from squalid conditions in a private residence here late Thursday.

    The seizure came in response to an anonymous tip that the homeowners were hospitalized and no one was caring for the animals.
