    Herald Globe
    Monday 8th February, 2010

The body of a man has been found slumped in the landing gear of a plane at Japan's Narita Airport.

He was discovered in the wheel bay of a Delta airliner that had arrived in Tokyo from New York.

The man has not been identified but Japanese authorities have described him as having a dark complexion and dressed only in blue jeans and a long-sleeved shirt.

He was carrying no passport, personal belongings or luggage.

Police believe anything he might have carried would have dropped out over the Atlantic.

It is believed the man froze to death at an altitude of more than 30,000 feet.
