Bike Messenger: New Whiz-Bang Features and Stuffby The Bike Messenger Published: 09/15/2005ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT
New Feature on SpokePost.com
The SpokePost.com Whiz-Bang Heuristics Laboratory employees have been turning dials and connecting wires to come up with the greatest user interface milestone since HTML. Yep, it's the "SpokePost.com Featured Bike Racing Album Selector". I can assure you as much thought went into this new feature as was put into that ingenious name. Every so often we'll put up different albums to select from, giving you, the loyal SpokePost.com reader, TOTAL CONTROL over what images you want to see. Look out Google, Yahoo! and AOL, here we come. Just look on the home page for the new tool located right in the middle of the page below the main news headlines.
To get things started on the groundbreaking "SpokePost.com Featured Bike Racing Album Selector" - we're taking a look back at the storied history and nostalgia of the 2002 Upstate NY Cyclocross Season. A truly storybook season of mud-slinging on the over-taxed properties of Upstate New York. It's about as close as you'll get to ever 'crossing on the "golden brick road". So, please, consult your doctor, take your medication, and strap yourself to your seat before starting any album viewing plan.
NEW DIARY WRITERS - AUSTIN BYRD and ALAN ATWOOD
A cyclist and a gentleman.
We're also adding a couple new diary writers. One is a bike racer. One is an official and organizer. Now, who isn't dying to read an officials diary, seriously? I'm sure many of you are wondering what goes through their heads after "psycho Francis" (please see Stripes) goes off on them because he was convinced that he was an inch ahead of Slowpoke McGee in the Category 6 race down in Podunkyville. Check out the travels of Alan Atwood.
Anyway - Austin Byrd is working his way into the Cat 2 ranks and should have some interesting race stories and other stuff to talk about. Check out the Austin Byrd diary and gallery. Some nice shots he supplied there.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Training articles, training articles, training articles.
Most of us are thinking that we could use a little more training this winter (like...ANY). So stay motivated with the new training section contributed by our friend David Peckinpaugh from Wenzel Coaching. All the other training articles are still maintained in our original training article repository - and we will probably still be adding articles here along the way, so either watch for them on the front page headlines, or check this section once in a while.
THANKS FOR WRITING, WE'LL GET TO IT
Your letters are not in vain.
I know some of you have written with various questions and comments. Normally I respond to these emails in the Bike Messenger section (like this newsletter/update). I promise I will get better at keeping up with some of these...so keep the letters coming. Maybe if you're lucky, I won't dump my pathetic brand of comedy on your letter.
Thanks for reading,
The Bike Messenger
