Obama healthcare bill gets through Congress
    Herald Globe
    Monday 22nd March, 2010

US President Barack Obama has become victorious as the leader of health care reform in his country.

After a year of legislative drama on Capitol Hill, the final vote on health care reform in the House of Representatives has been made, almost ensuring a new economic agenda.

President Obama made a point of putting his presidency on the line over healthcare legislation, which was been described by the president's Democratic pitch-makers as the best action to be taken on behalf of America's family budget.

The US has been a country where most people rely on private insurance to help meet their medical costs.

While the health care bill has cleared Congress, the Senate must still sign-off on a series of changes approved by the House.

Senators are expected to act on completing the bill this week.
