Swimming legend Ian Thorpe is said to be filming a new self-produced TV show in an attempt to reignite his defunct small screen career.

The five-time Olympic gold medallist has confirmed that he was in talks for a lifestyle program when quizzed by Confidential over lunch at Leichhardt yesterday.

The show is apparently set inside his house and features a different guest coming over to cook dinner and have a chat each week.

"We may be doing something soon - I don't know when," the Courier Mail quoted him as saying.

"I have a lot of ideas - it's pretty clear in my head but just depends.

"It will be lifestyle-based," he added.

His latest project is said to have been independently produced and is not yet attached to any mainstream network.

A production source said the new show is well under way. (ANI)
