    (IANS)

Two jail wardens were sacked and one was suspended after they were arrested for allegedly raping two women and killing one of them at the house of the jail superintendent of Dumka district, an official said Saturday.

'Two wardens appointed on contract have been sacked and another warden has been suspended,' D.K. Pradhan, jail superintendent of Dumka central jail, told reporters.

The services of a barber working in the jail on contract basis have also been terminated for the alleged rape.

The three wardens and the barber called the two women at Pradhan's house Thursday night when the jail superintendent was in Ranchi. They allegedly raped both of them. One woman managed to escape and the second was allegedly killed.

'We raided the house of the jail superintendent Friday and arrested the four people. We found the body of a woman identified as Lakkhi Devi and sent it for post mortem,' Arun Kumar, Dumka superintendent of police told reporters.
