Easton AMC to feature indy films
Business First of Columbus
AMC Entertainment Inc. is bringing specialty and independent films to its Easton Town Center 30 theater beginning Friday.
The Kansas City-based company is adding its AMC Select Program to 71 other theaters nationwide, including at Newport, Ky.'s AMC Newport on the Levee 20.
Under the program, AMC tries to have an indy or niche film among its everday lineup of major studio releases at the theaters. Among the current offerings are "Akeelah and The Bee," "An Inconvenient Truth" and "Art School Confidential."
AMC's plans to feature AMC Select at its other area theaters in Dublin and at Lennox Town Center have not been determined.
The company did not disclose how much revenue it expects to generate under the program. AMC is a privately held company that posted $1.8 billion in revenue for 2005.
