Becks to decide soon on playing for West Ham

England midfielder David Beckham has promised to inform West Ham soon whether he will play for them or not.

West Ham is once again in the hunt to bring David Beckham to Upton Park.

The east London-born 35-year-old was linked with the club in May by co-owner David Sullivan and his compatriot David Gold speaking out in favour of the move.

The club is adamant that if he did move back to east London it would have no effect on his ambassadorial role in the London 2018 World Cup bid.

The LA Galaxy midfielder hopes to make his comeback from an Achilles injury in the next few weeks then return to Europe in January.

David Gold said: "We had some discussions with David's agents a few months ago and it was a possibility.

"He's preoccupied with a number of projects at the moment but he's promised he will give every consideration to the possibility of joining us." (ANI)
