Capello yet to officially inform Ferdinand about England captaincy

    (ANI)

London, Feb 8: England manager Fabio Capello has said that he does not plan any talks with new captain Rio Ferdinand until the England squad face Egypt next month.

When asked when he would speak to Ferdinand about his new job, Capello replied: "March".

"I want to speak about this, but first I want to speak with Rio and the other players. We will speak about the new captain then. Usually I prefer to speak with the players, not the journalists. I understand you, but you have to understand me," The Sun quoted Capello, as saying.

Earlier, it was revealed that Ferdinand has not been officially informed that he has been selected to succeed John Terry as the captain of the national squad.

And Capello still sees no reason to make a big deal about Ferdinand becoming his new skipper.

Terry was dramatically stripped of the armband after a 12-minute meeting with manager Fabio Capello at Wembley last Friday.
